The PTE score for Australia and Canada’s immigration programs differ significantly in terms of scoring and acceptance. For Australian PR, PTE Academic is widely accepted, and scores are categorized into Competent, Proficient, and Superior English. Achieving a score of 65 or above is generally recommended to maximize your points. Canada, on the other hand, primarily uses IELTS and CELPIP as the standard tests for English proficiency. However, PTE Academic is now recognized by some Canadian immigration pathways. Unlike Australia, where a higher score can directly boost your points, Canada uses a different scoring system called CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) to assess your English proficiency level. Both countries have their own benchmarks, but achieving a strong PTE score for Australia is often simpler because of the more straightforward scoring criteria. |
